Time The time used on all flight documentation needs to be understood. All time is expressed as Universal Time Constant (UTC) abbreviated to "Zulu Time", it is also the same as Greenwich Mean Time. To avoid confusion it is common when giving time estimates to Air traffic to omit the hours and let them work it out for themselves, i.e. "Golf Sierra Hotel estimated Ortac at 24" meaning at 24 minutes past the next hour. In the summer the following table gives the relative times:
Note: This means that if you leave Popham at 10.00am local time you will arrive in France at 1.00pm, right in the middle of their lunch time, it is not their problem if you leave late and cant get fuel on arrival! |
