Introduction

This electronic guide to crossing the English Channel in a light aircraft, came about in 1998. Before a meeting of the Popular Flying Association Solent Strut I had agreed to brief 2 friends with whom I was to fly to France on the following Saturday. The rest of the Strut Members poked in their noses and in due course my briefing notes were turned into an evening presentation entitled "Daves Dodgy Guide to Crossing the Channel".

Imagine my surprise to find that 9 years later, a number of my friends still have dog eared copies of my handouts, and cheekily they are even now complaining that the information needs updating. So here, much improved and updated are my notes and experiences on crossing The English Channel.

I hope you enjoy them and find them useful.
